Greatest Lie ever told - The Rising sea levels
Bloody hell, this is remarkable stuff! Hat Tip to No Minister
This has to be read to be believed:
....there is one scientist who knows more about sea levels than anyone else in the world it is the Swedish geologist and physicist Nils-Axel Mörner, formerly chairman of the INQUA International Commission on Sea Level Change. And the uncompromising verdict of Dr Mörner, who for 35 years has been using every known scientific method to study sea levels all over the globe, is that all this talk about the sea rising is nothing but a colossal scare story.
Despite fluctuations down as well as up, "the sea is not rising," he says. "It hasn't risen in 50 years." If there is any rise this century it will "not be more than 10cm (four inches), with an uncertainty of plus or minus 10cm". And quite apart from examining the hard evidence, he says, the elementary laws of physics (latent heat needed to melt ice) tell us that the apocalypse conjured up by
Al Gore and Co could not possibly come about.
The reason why Dr Mörner, formerly a Stockholm professor, is so certain that these claims about sea level rise are 100 per cent wrong is that they are all based on computer model predictions, whereas his findings are based on "going into the field to observe what is actually happening in the real world".
When running the International Commission on Sea Level Change, he launched a special project on the Maldives, whose leaders have for 20 years been calling for vast sums of international aid to stave off disaster. Six times he and his expert team visited the islands, to confirm that the sea has not risen for half a century. Before announcing his findings, he offered to show the inhabitants a film explaining why they had nothing to worry about. The government refused to let it be shown.

What will the Greenies be saying about this? This is an outrage and all of you who believed Al Gore deserve to be ridiculed. I mean seriously, you're idiots.
Care to dispute it?

Indeed, it is a shame that Booker's work is not published here.
You would think someone would run his articles that are not directly UK-centric.
I have always enjoyed Christopher Booker and I always get the Sunday Telegraph when I am in Britain.
I also loved Booker's piece the other week about those Arctic explorers whose voyage was meant to prove climate change but they struck much colder weather than usual.
I blogged about this, including linking the 'greatest lie ever told' piece over at The Fairfacts Media Show on Sunday.
I guess it was too buried in the copy of the global warming swindle piece for anyone to notice.
Why don't you simply google the guy. Try wikipedia.
Look at his views on drowsing. Looks at who is paying him. As far as I can see his 'evidence' in the Maldives depends on a tree, which he asserts was cut down by other researchers. Paranoia?
It always amazes me the ability of the credulous faithful to swallow anything that confirms their dogma. If it is from a single individual with ties to industrial lobby groups, so much the better..
I do wish that you'd go and get some training in earth sciences. It'd make it possible to argue with you.
lprent.
I haven't had such a giggle in ages. I will turn that right back on you: It always amazes me that people like you, supposedly educated, believed Al Gores little film - to confirm your religious like dogma.
You tend to, like your buddies on the hard Green left, to smear the messenger. Who cares who pays him, that he may be tied to lobby groups? That is the same for your side too - and yet you seem to think your side is the ONLY side worth listening to.
Why is your side the only side worth listening to? How come every time a person with good credentials gets burned by people like you because they propose alternatives?
Oh and what year did you finish your earth sciences degree? Or are you yet another of these people who only agree with those who subscribe to your way of thinking?
I bet Rodney Hide could run circles around you.
