Bill English - too many head shots.....

Dear. Sweet. Jesus.

If 9 years of hoping for a better way wasn't bad enough, Nationals "finance" minister twists the knife in further by suggesting tax INCREASES are being mooted to help the economic recovery.

Didn't Bill get the memo that the more you tax the more you stifle growth or did Ted Clark get in too many punches to your head?

The Nats who defend Bill may as well head over here and be done with it. It is pure madness to suggest tax increases will solve our problems, especially when you spent NINE YEARS telling us that you believed in tax cuts. What utter nonsense. You were convinced by ACT to support tax cuts but we all know you're not true believers. That's why Sir Roger is twiddling his thumbs and writing excellent books on the sidelines because you simply don't have the balls to make the real hard decisions on how to fix the economy.

Usually the Nats take a bit longer before they start disappointing the right. Last time they had Ruth Richardson there to steady the ship and she took the tough decisions out of the hands of the weaker men there who were intimidated by the fact their political party was making big changes. They wanted the status quo, although even they were a little taken back by Labour showing them up on good right wing policy.

Bill - you need to start cutting the waste from your Government expenditure. There is a lot of money going towards bad rubbish - why are you too scared to do the taxpayers a favour and bin them? You don't need to cut essential services in order to do that either - and despite the health budget being ridiculously out of control, you can leave that alone as no doubt you'll mess that up too.

New Zealand was screaming for a change of direction after Labour squandered 9 years of economic recovery. Germany and France have reported a positive rebound in their economies today which could mean the rest of Europe might follow. What New Zealand doesn't need is more Government intervention or taxes being taken away from workers and the productive sectors of the economy.

Thankfully, the wiser bloggers also smell a rat too. Bill, pull your bloody head in.

And Whale Oil as well tells it like it is.

Dean Lonergan is an Evil Bastard, Sitting ringside that night I felt sick watching the noodle necked English take a fiersome beating from the psycho muso Clark. It still amazes me that the handlers did not figure out what was likely to happen to English.

My late papa used to tell of how the first labour govt made so many drastic changes to how govts responded to the depression and I am still not sure how they would have panned out if WW2 had not come along. However they made some drastic changes and sadly welfare that was so necessary then has now become a trap or a lifestyle for so many. W.e will have to someday take the axe to it as Sir Roger did in the 80's and "dame" Ruth carried on with in the 90's. The Peasants can make good decisions with their own hard earned money if we only let them and make the consequences of bad choices apparent. Sir Roger left me technically bankrupt in the 80's but the bank did not get down to us before we had taken steps to solve the problem. We took second jobs, paid more tax and recapitalised our core business to the point we were able to retire at 60. So Bill from Dipton pulease get your fingers out of my pocket and make the harder political steps to restore NZ inc to growth and if it is too hard get out of the kitchen. The last thing I need is more tax in any form.
