I'm calling the game, 77 minutes gone and The Scum two nil down. It's over everybody.

Call a Freakin Election!

Anyone getting sick of the sand up ones nostrils as we face English's first budget?

Sure the National and ACT government have done some good since assuming the reigns of power. These have mainly been cosmetic and some redecorating of the "busybody" bureaucracy (as Karl Du Frense put it today), but is political pragmatism and expediency sending us down a river of bankruptcy and mediocrity?

For Fucks Sake the centre right have 55% + in the polls, surely that is a mandate for some radical surgery to alleviate the inevitable slow painful economic slide.

I'll take a stand here. Time for ACT to grow some!

Using the irrefutable logic that Sir Roger releases, every other day, ACT should WITHDRAW on confidence and supply. Force an Election and put Privatisation, Welfare Reform, Education Reform and an overhaul of the tax system back on the table.

Make or Break.

If ever these reforms were going to be implemented and "business finished", now is the last chance.

What are the other options, wait until 2011 when the economy is worse and a parade of hapless National MP's and Ministers have embarrassed themselves further?

Seriously, who could put together a saleable and credible plan to supercharge NZ for the 21st century, Key Hide and Douglas..........or Goff, Cunliffe and Norman. Lets put that choice to the nation............and if we choose the latter, the turkeys just gobbled for xmas and we got what we deserved!

A victory for "Feminism"?

I blogged waaaay back in February defending the decision for a Dunedin steak house to choose to put a photo of a woman on a leaflet of theirs which obscurred her boobs and advertised their restaurant. As an ex Otago student and veteran of 7 years of hard living down there I was shocked that a private restaurant would be attacked for having a sense of humour at a University Orientation week.

There are more women (58%) at Otago university, which I always enjoyed - and of them there would be 5% MAX who would find this offensive. This might have been exhibited when not one went down to the Huntsman bar and grill to protest their excellent steak deal. My argument was mainly at the backwards feminists over at the Hand Mirror who seem to think that a woman displaying herself (or not in this instance) was not in anybodys best interests. This coming from a blog that proudly or ironically displays on their blog the "My body - my choice" logo.

"My body my choice" - unless it goes against their ultra conservative view that no woman can do it to - turn on men publically - or in magazines - or on leaflets - because a womans choice should be dictated by other women, presumably from the irrelevant Ministry of Womens affairs, something that if National had the balls, would have removed within their first 100 days.

Back to the Huntsman Grill. The story out today, a mere 3 months later reveals the the woman on the leaflet was the restaurant MANAGER, who had agreed with the owner that this was a good idea and in fact came up with the idea with her manager. So not some poor oppressed naive exploited girl, but a women in management who was totally comfortable in her skin to have a laugh. Good on her. The advertisment got complained about and the Advertising Standards Authority have ruled that the advertisement "was likely to cause serious offence" and "it used sexual appeal to draw attention and degraded women in general, thus breaching advertising standards.
It also said the ad crossed the threshold to likely cause serious offence in prevailing community standards.
So it was upheld.

The people who complained said that "the ad was offensive and socially unacceptable as it portrayed women as pieces of meat" which every non cannibal knows is a frankly stupid remark. I bet anybody stuck in the snow with a fat woman amongst them would WISH she was made of sirloins, tender-ribs, rib-eye and other assorted steaks and cuts, but we all know this isn't the case.

It is sad that once again a womans right to express herself in a company what she manages has been denied by a bunch of kill-joys, angry manhaters and ultra conservative femimists.

Could this be that I value a womans right to display oneself in any way she chooses MORE than the Hand Mirror? That I care about a womans free right to put on or take off clothes when she sees fit? That ANY woman DOES have the choice to do what they want with their body?

Absolutely. As do the majority of the male and female blogosphere.

Sorry

Sorry to my readers for my days off, been flat out with work and dastardly deeds that include pushing capitalism and subjugating left wingers. Its a tough job. With May being a month where the Brits give everybody bank holidays at the beginning and end of the month people tend to get (more) lazy, myself included. I'll be away in Brussels next week just before the European elections so will not be around then to report on the excesses of the MEPs - moreso on my excesses of Belgian beers!

I will also be away later in the year to attempt to bring down the Castro regime. For too long the US haven't had the guts to send anybody in to kill the bastard, so I will do what I can... one beer, one cigar, one all inclusive resort at a time. It would be rude not too, I got 14 days to make an impact which I'm sure I will be enough :)

If anybody is looking to contribute to the blog I'd be interested in hearing from you. We have a blog redesign coming up once my new Slovak designer sobers up and we'll be looking at adding some more people to the team for that. I'm interested in anything, sports, beer, politics... whatever we can to preserve the honoured tradition of fair minded Kiwis fighting against the left wing, feminist, backwards looking agenda we booted out last year. Email me at clintheine@yahoo.com

Cheers.

David on the Stand

So the defence argues that David Bain has said it all before and there is no need to take the stand.

What a weak and transparent rouse.

The defence are protecting Bain from examination of the incredibly weak, circumstantial and contradictory evidence from a few drug addled prostitutes about the obviously inconsistent stories that Laniet peddled.

What would the prosecution ask?

Firstly, why didn't David mention the (clearly fictitious) baby of Laniet?

Where is that Baby?

Surely Karam would have found the baby (now an adult) by now?

What did you call the family meeting about?

Why has your story of what happened on that morning changed immediately after the evidence against you was presented to your defence?

Why were you the only one to stay?

Bain would have to do one of two things.

Firstly deny any knowledge that his sister was pregnant, therefore blowing apart the long dead hearsay defence of his sisters "testimony"

Or....confirm these stories and face questions as to why he has NEVER alluded to these facts in any previous interviews or cross examinations.

The truly innocent would deal with these questions easily. The guilty would hide from them

Funsized?

Labour MPs are enjoying self adulation by attempting to be clever and are stalling the Governments vote on the Auckland super council. Idiot MPs who have already forgotten the cost that Parliament burdons upon the taxpayers.

How clever they must feel? I can imagine that the younger ones, Hipkins, Robertson and Adern are all very excited that they get to play grown ups and try and not only screw the Government but the taxpayers who pay for this folly.

They tried to get the council called the "Funsized council" but in reality the only thing funsized are their brains - and congratulations to the Maori Party Tariana Turia for making a stand against Labours stupid play tactics.

I love it the sound of left wingers fighting

Jasmine Freemantle, EX workers party idiot has been expelled from the party. In response she wrote a damn long blog about what happened. It is fucking juicy, especially if you are a student at Victoria University or a politics geek.

I know she will take the blog down eventually, as it is damning. So I have saved it and made it into another blog. :) This should be pulled out at EVERY VUWSA election period to stop these fools ever getting into office again.

His legacy lives on...

Which American singlehandedly created Marine Protection Area (MPAs) which were set up and are successfully protecting fish stocks, the marine environment and assisting the recovery of severely damaged seabed habitats?

This man intitated these MPAs which are now part of 31% of all MPAs worldwide - all because of his efforts.

I'll give you a clue, this was also the man who initiated the largest international health initiative in history for a single disease.

Guardian article here

Of course as I have been saying for years most people don't have a single clue what the man did or gave him a chance. And that is why they are the stupid people - not him.

Labours landmines keep popping up

Election Day last year wasn't the day that all of Labours big spending policies died. Labour had planned for an election defeat for quite some time - and buried some pretty big landmines for National to prevent them from achieving any decent policy that would shift the political focus in Nationals favour.

We know Cullen and Street kept the ACC timebomb hidden from the PREFU until the Nats got in - and all hell broke loose then. We know that Cullens train set "Kiwi" Rail was designed to bleed Government/taxpayers money for a great many years too - and judging by treasury statements it is now worth $442m down from the purchase price of $690m when bought last July... yes JULY, three months from the election when Labour were in double digits behind National. Why NZers didn't cry foul and bloody murder then is testiment to us deserving the Government you vote for. Kiwis are bloody mugs for letting Labour piss away the countries wealth during one of the biggest booms in living memory.

The latest mines are the ones that thankfully, National will be able to stop. Todays report from treasury tells us that:

* The Treasury's statements for the nine months to March put the Government's books $7.7 billion in the red $3.2b worse than forecast in December and $11b worse than the surplus forecast before the November election.

* Government spending was up by almost $3.5b, mostly due to the former Labour government's 2008 Budget spending commitments. (remembering that these massive spending increases were during a time when Labour were most certainly going to lose the election)

* Bill English said the figures and the revenue outlook meant National could not proceed with Labour's proposed spending in its May 28 Budget.

"We've had to scale back the undertakings made by the previous government," English said.

"They had allocated some quite large spending increases for this Budget. They won't be able to happen now because there is less revenue.

Now typical Labour attacks on the spending cuts are predictable. They will tell anybody that listens that National/ACT are slashing essential Government spending on public services, almost preparing them for eventual privatisation. (I wish) This is forgetting that the expenditure being cut is money not being spent yet.

Labour have always enjoyed the benefit of telling the best lies in order to garner public support. It is easier for people to believe that the problems always lie in right wing parties cutting money - than to believe the system itself is the problem. Labour have painted some of our greatest policians as those who hate the poor and needy and many Kiwis have lapped it up. Just like in the UK when Thatcher has been vilified despite her saving the UK economy.

Labour have left us a legacy of debt, state reliance and mortgaged our futures. Those lucky enough to have left (YAY) are enjoying higher wages, lower taxes and a better standard of living - the standard of living that Kiwis at home SHOULD be experiencing for themselves. If NZ had adopted Roger Douglas's policies in the 80's we would not even be having this debate - Kiwis would be extremely protective of their low tax high pay society and we would be doing a lot better than we are now.

They told us so then and more Kiwis should have listened instead of believing the left wing lies. The only way we can improve is to keep these people out of Government for as long as we can and hope that National gets it right soon. Either that or they pick up ACTs pledge card from the last election and give Sir Roger a call now.

Another reason why you shouldn't give in to extremists

I blogged a couple weeks ago about how Pakistan allowed the Taliban to administer the Swat Valley in exchange for a cease fire. Also included in this deal was that Sharia law would be used for the region.

This was based on the idea that the militant and ruthless killers of the Taliban will lay their guns down and become peaceful.

How fucking stupid is that?

Turbaned Taliban militants seized government buildings, laid mines and fought security forces Tuesday in the Swat Valley, as fear of a major operation led thousands to pack their belongings on their heads and backs, cram aboard buses and flee the northwestern region.

The collapse of a 3-month-old truce with the Taliban means Pakistan will now have to fight to regain control of the Swat Valley, testing the ability of its stretched military and the resolve of civilian leaders who until recently were insisting the insurgents could be partners in peace. The government feared the refugee exodus could reach half a million people.

The truth? Nobody wants to live in Taleban controlled Pakistan and the fighting is about to get a lot worse. The Taleban last week moved within 100km from the Capital and had to be forced back by Government forces - but how long will this last?

As I said before, Pakistan is going to be screwed in under 5 years. It will destabilise the entire region and this will affect India, Afghanistan and the surroundng territories. People were worried about Indian violence must remember that the terror in Mumbai was committed by Muslim terrorists based in Pakistan. While India has made huge leaps with democracy and ensuring public safety, Pakistan is not doing enough or even playing their part.

It is sad because India had to move the IPL to South Africa in case of further terrorism. How infortunate that India is tarred with the same brush as Pakistan. Having travelled throughout India I would hate it to become a place people avoided stupidly because they didn't feel safe.

Spot the difference

One has been in the same career for all his working life and is ginger... and the other is Ron Howard everybodys favourte Ritchie Cunningham from Happy Days.

Chris Hipkins has been in politics all his life. Starting as a student flunkie at VUWSA and was their president. Soon after graduating he moved into working for Labour MPs including Mallard, Maharey and Clark. This boy has no experience working in the private sector, instead choosing to work in "policy" closely aligned to the Labour Party. That way he could produce policy and give advice to other bureaucrats that was all about Labour. Pretty handy for him and so many others like him who chooses this path to get into Parliament the Labour way.

So why then did Richie attack senior bureaucrats, and call them HACKS?

Is this what your Labour re-education has taught you? To deny your past and facts and attack people while proving you're the biggest hypocrite of all?

My advice, SIT ON IT Ritchie.

Only in the UK

I saw on BBC news this morning the couple who came back from their honeymoon in Mexico with the swine flu virus - running into their house covered in blankets.

However - why were they doing this? Was it:

A) To protect the dozen journalists aseembled outside their house - and to not infect other bystanders going by their daily routines..

or

B) Because they have a newspaper/magazine deal to sell their exclusive stories which will get them at least £50k?

Give them some credit! Of course they were protecting their exclusivity arrangements with the press. Why would they protect the health of the others with all those pound signs in their heads!

As I said - ONLY in the UK.

Labour pains...

Phil Goff has a lot of work if he is going to stamp his authority over his rag-tag collection of ex unionists, teachers, Clark clones and ex staffers.

However Mr 9% has first got to shed the arrogance that his fellow MPs are carrying with them. Two such MPs are Mita Ririnui and Chris Hipkins.

1) Ririnui proving that Labour did nothing for 9 years has put in a bill to entrench the Maori seats into Parliament needing a 75% majority vote to overturn them. The Maori Party asks the obvious question - why didn't they do this when they were in Government? Ririnuis response?

Mr Ririnui said the Maori Party leaders were "just waffling" because they didn't know what to do about the bill.

It begs the question - has this crop of MPs decided that they are going to take no responsibility for the last 9 years? This reminds me when I asked the left wing blog The Hand Mirror why they are getting all upset because National put aside a review on pay equity when Labour didn't do a thing for the last 9 years? The response? Lame excuses, anger at my bringing it up in the first place and complete and utter denial.

Either way, the best way for Labour to get Maori Party support for the bill is not to insult them. Ririnui should probably pull his head in.

Mind you - the bill itself is bollocks anyway. Racism and seperatism is how Labour creates support. Entrenching seats is stupid, and there SHOULD be a parliamentary majority who agree.

2) Chris Hipkins who is another ex student union flunkie has accused National of putting "moles" into Government offices. This coming from a party who stacked the entire public service with Labour stooges and PC woofters.

Hipkins spews : "They are effectively spies for Bill English in all of the different ministers' offices -- it's a bit of a power grab."

It seems that Hipkins is unimpressed that non union flunkies are being put into departments that his party no longer controls. Labour should keep their heads out of the public service as they have over the past 9 years systematically grown it into the mess it is today. Any cuts in spending or staff numbers should be warmly welcomed by the long suffering taxpayers.
