Get rid of the bloody thing.

I see that TVNZ's half yearly profit has halved and that predictions are that the full years trading figures will show a loss.

As a share holder in this company I find this level of performance unacceptable, Rick Ellis must make cut backs now, slash some salaries, pension some of the old buggers off and cut your cloth accordingly.

It irks me that we have a state broadcaster, it annoys me even more that I have to fund apartheid TV (but that is another story) but I will not accept that any more of my tax dollars are going to be funnelled into the propaganda arm of this government.

Better still, sell the bloody thing, put it on the market and use the money to pay down debt.

Politicians act like drunken sailors on shore leave when it comes to our money. They convince us that we need a public TV service and yet ignore it when the private sector do a better job. If they sold TVNZ we will be covered for top quality TV shows no matter who runs it. Why should people who don't even watch TV have to pay for the excesses of our public broadcasters?

TVNZ see themselves as like the BBC, who are themselves OTT when it comes to lavish self love within the workplace.

TVNZ is dead as most people go onto YouTube, so for me it is not a sacred cow...

TVNZ's quality is low so is not exactly up there with the BBC anyway...

BBC seems to be the poster child for good broadcasting practise. What they really are is bloated and wasteful... and the quality is ok.. but easily replicated on commercial TV.
