Stealing from the Bloggers Union
Thank goodness we are all obliged to join the bloggers union when we set up a blog or comment on blogs in New Zealand. When I say join, I mean really a looser interpretation of compulsion - all designed for our well being. :)
Today our union has been alerted to a major case of theft. Even worse, it was by a person who was on the freakshow programme the Apprentice, the NZ version, a smaller sadder version of the US and UK shows. Rich Henry seems to think stealing peoples material is part and parcel for creating a business. Well he has pissed off the wrong person, Whale Oil. Whale and the Bloggers Union are now out for revenge.
Read the full story here from Whale Oil.
Fellow blog union member Cactus Kate also adds her 2 pence worth.
The full weight of the union is behind Whale Oil, every member from Kiwiblog to the Standard and No Right Turn. All members of the NZ Bloggers Union.

Maybe I really am dumb. I can't work out if it's a pro union post from an (in my opinion) confirmed tory, sardonic humour or a realistion that if we didn't have unions, workers would be slicing their fingers off, left, right and centre and doffing their caps to some Dickensian factory manager.
Hi mate, naa you're not dumb but I have to say calling me a Tory is almost the worst thing you have ever called me :)
The Bloggers Union is a response to the compulsory student unions in NZ. We have as much justification as they do to remain compulsory despite the views of the union being different than most of its members. It is a little tongue in cheek as well mate!
Hows it going up north? Bet you've had a lot of snow!
It snowed worse in 1981/82, I went to school every day, ate fish n chips out of newspapers on the way home and the council sent snowploughs to clear the roads as well as people to grit the pavements.
So why can't they manage it now? The snow is a nuisance, I cleared my pavement and will probably get sued for it.
If you're British and can afford it......emigrate.
I hate to criticize my own country but we had worse winters years ago.
So, why with modern equipment, better communications, more public agencies and sattelite weather forecasts, do we come to a standstill?
My neighbour works for the NHS and told me the local hospital is full of injured people slating the council.
You couldn't make it up.
I agree, I don't see how we have gone backwards despite technology improving. It's bonkers, but not just a British phenomonon - around the world it's like this.
Nothing wrong with a bit of snowfall, but not happy that we're unprepared for it over here. It's not like we get snow once a decade. We need more people like you running the show!
Clint, it's not exactly rocket science, have a couple of snowploughs, council taxpayers would gladly pay for them, clear the main roads as a priority, by all means encourage people to clear their own property, next step assess which areas are worst hit and attend to them, Jeez, this town has a beach nearby, fill a couple of trucks with sand and start dumping it around, I despair, the local kids loved the snow until their parents told them no go, the entire country has gone mad, the NHS are at breaking point while our councils are twiddling thumbs, this is a great country, run badly, there I said it.
What I meant is that we need more commonsense like what you just said. People who are doers not those who sit and watch while everything else falls around them.
It is a great country, run very badly. Why do we get stuck with politicians and bureaucrats who don't really want to do anything?
